Currently listed as one of CNN’s hot topics is the search for Steve Fossett, the US Aviator whose airplane fell in Nevada, but has yet to be recovered. In an effort to bring awareness to this cause and help find Fossett, the Israel News Agency has come up with a clever SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy. They used the headline “Google, Paris Hilton, Ebay, Britney Spears, Internet Marketing Used To Find Steve Fossett” to gain traffic to their article, since those are the most frequently searched keywords on Google.
The Israel News Agency says:
The Israel News Agency is also aware that the more people who come across and read this optimized news story, the more people will search Google Earth images. It’s a numbers game. If Internet marketing and SEO can be used to sell cars, real estate, dating, sex sites, video games, jobs, elections, sports and music, it can also be used to save Steve Fosset’s life.
I couldn’t agree more. Let’s use SEO to bring back the 3 soldiers kidnapped during the Lebanon War in July, 2006: Eldad Regev, Ehud Goldwasser, and Gilad Shalit.
