The Israeli theater scene is starting to resemble the technology start-up culture, bringing countless new productions to the Israeli stage. Among the headlines and reviews, the following 3 plays seem the most promising:
“Avenue Q”: A Hebrew adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. View Israelity for a video clip or Avenue Q’s official site for more info.
“Public Toilet”: Ynet says: “The National Theatre Company of China’s first ever performance in Israel… Put on by a cast of 50 actors and musicians, the play is set at the scene of a Beijing restroom, and follows the life of lead character Xiao Shi and the social and cultural changes that occur in his country over the last three decades of the 20th century” Read more on Ynet
“The Lion and the Jewel”: Produced by Netela Theater Company, an Ethiopian-founded theater dedicated to social change and awareness for minorities in Israel. Read more on Jpost
