Yesterday afternoon Israel time israelplug.com reached digg’s home page (check out the article in question here). While I watched our servers crumble around us as a result of the onslaught of traffic, I wept with joy and admired the growing number of diggs…
It’s probably pretty unimpressive for us here at israelplug to report about our digg success. I bet we’re supposed to act all nonchalant like “Big deal, we’re on the digg home page. Happens all the time. Latte please.” Well, maybe for you, but not for me! Yippee!
This is especially exciting because we had only just started officially launching the site. I hadn’t even sent out the press releases yet (which will now have to be rewritten). Plus, since I started building sites and blogs, I’ve been dreaming of the day when I’ll reach the web high-ground. And now that day has come…sniff…I’d like to thank my Mom and Dad for always showing me the way, etc. etc.
Before I end off, I just want to ask all of our new RSS subscribers to stick around a bit. We have some really juicy and interesting articles coming up after the weekend, and you won’t be disappointed (and if you are, then you can unsubscribe).
And now, a slide show of the day our baby israelplug hit digg’s home page. I know the quality’s pretty poor, but it’s the best I can do for now:
Yours cheerfully dugg and Shabbat Shalom,
Miriam Schwab, israelplug Editor
