The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) plans to launch military satellites POLARIS and CARTOSAT-2A, designed by Israel, by the end of the year. These satellites have more capabilities than those currently used by India, including taking pictures through clouds and rain.
This launching is scheduled to coincide with the delivery of the country’s first Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft, also an Israeli product.
The final plan is to create a link between the AWACS, aerostat balloon radars and low-level transportable radars of the IAF (Israel Air Force). With this new technology in their skies, India will be able to keep close tabs on its neighbors, including Pakistan and China.
